Scenes where WERO Gen 2 becomes your secret weapon
▸ On‑set DIT & post‑production
Wrap a commercial shoot and immediately offload 1TB of ARRIRAW or Blackmagic RAW. Hand the director the same drive to review 8K dailies in DaVinci Resolve—no proxy generation, no transcoding. The active cooling keeps speeds pinned at 6,000MB/s even after the 4th magazine dump.
▸ Unreal Engine 5 & real‑time 3D
Load a 500GB Metahuman project directly from the WERO enclosure. Jump between multiple Unreal Engine builds without touching the internal drive. Frame‑perfect playback on location, in the edit bay, or at a client pitch.
▸ Music production & live performance
Stream Omnisphere, Keyscape, and orchestral libraries in real time from the WERO while recording 64‑channel stems. The fan stays whisper‑quiet—your condenser mics won’t even know it’s there. Bus‑powered means one less cable on the tour rig.
▸ High‑volume photography
Ingest a 4,000‑shot wedding gallery (50MP RAW) in under two minutes. Cull in Lightroom with zero preview lag. Deliver the entire catalog to clients by handing them the drive, not a Dropbox link.
▸ Enterprise & system administrators
Clone and deploy corporate OS images across fleets. Carry a bootable 4TB environment that launches on any Thunderbolt‑equipped machine. Disk‑to‑disk verification completes before you finish your coffee.
Thunderbolt 5. Real bandwidth. Real speed.
80Gbps bi‑directional and up to 120Gbps asymmetric boost means 6,000MB/s sustained throughput. The Gen 2 enclosure works backward with Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, USB4, and USB‑C—any port in your studio becomes a direct pipeline to your NVMe drive.
Engineered to never throttle
The Gen 2 uses a refined aluminum body and an enhanced active‑fan thermal design. Even when writing 8TB without interruption, the drive temperature stays well inside safe limits. You get the full speed from the first byte to the last.
Tool‑free swap in seconds
Slide open the case, drop in any single‑ or double‑sided M.2 NVMe stick (2230/2242/2260/2280), and snap it shut. Carry three drives to a shoot and swap them quicker than you can change a lens.
